Jane Eyre; Book Layout
Featured here is a book layout for Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. This was a book I grew up reading, and I decided it would be a change of pace for me; elegant book design. I recently saw Louise Fili at AIGA Minnesota's Design Camp and I fell in love with her typography, hand-lettering and style and I wanted to use her as a source of inspiration in this book layout. Therefore I hand-lettered the title and drop cap letters, and I learned that making letters by hand, especially as elegant as Louise Fili, is extremely hard and time consuming! I really enjoyed it, and ever since this project and witnessing Louise Fili first hand, I have fallen in love with hand lettering and typography much more!
